Josh Allen Asserts Week’s Defensive Player Of AFC
Edge rusher Josh Allen played a major role in the Jaguars’ impressive victory over a division opponent last Sunday.
After a 24-21 victory over the Texans, which maintained them alone atop the AFC South, Allen had 2.5 sacks of quarterback C.J. Stroud. during Houston’s last drive, they were hit with two sacks, which resulted in lost yards.
This forced Houston to attempt a 58-yard field goal, which ultimately struck the crossbar on the winning play.
According to the NFL, Allen is the AFC defensive player of the week. He finished with four quarterback hits total. He has been deserving of this honor for three seasons now.
With 12 sacks this season, Josh Allen is on pace to have a career-high, and he’s positioning himself to land a big two-year deal when his current one ends at the conclusion of the 2023 season.
