On August 12 at the UFC Apex, Parisian will square off against Martin Buday during a UFC Fight Night event. Due to the promotion’s failure to make an official announcement, two people with knowledge of the issue who shared the booking with MMA Junkie on Friday asked to remain anonymous.

Walt Harris and Josh Parisian (15-6 MMA, 2-3 UFC) were supposed to square off on Saturday at UFC on ESPN 49, but Harris’ removal due to a positive drug test from the U.S. Anti-Doping Agency abruptly called off the bout.

The 34-year-old Parisian joined the UFC following a 2020 appearance on Dana White‘s Contender Series. Since then, he has alternated between defeats and victories; Jamal Pogues defeated him unanimously in their most recent bout on February 18.

Buday, also a former participant in the Contender Series, is on an 11-fight winning run overall and hasn’t lost since 2018. Since joining the UFC, he has won three decisions, most notably a unanimous decision against Jake Collier on April 29.
