Tom Brady Reveals NFL Team He Could Never Support In Tragic Snub
Rejecting a seven-time Super Bowl winner in the draft is one thing an NFL franchise really hates to do. However, it is precisely what transpired when Tom Brady was cruelly passed over by a significant NFL team in the early going of his career.
Being 22 years old at the time, Brady’s lack of awareness at the 2000 San Francisco 49ers could not have been a worse mistake. Also, they weren’t the only ones; until the Patriots took a risk late in the Draft, thirty other NFL clubs passed up the opportunity to sign the talented quarterback before Brady.
Growing up in the Californian Bay Area, Tom Brady supported the 49ers while he pursued his dream of being a professional quarterback. Brady is from Michigan. To his dismay, however, during his career his local team rejected him six times, not once, not twice, or even three times.
He has never been able to shake that 2000 NFL Draft recollection, which made it certain he would never again support the NFC West.
Brady remarked on his podcast,
“They passed on me six times in the NFL Draft, so f*** them and that entire staff that pushed me out. I carried a grudge for a very long time.”
Tom Brady will take on a new role after his retirement.
After recovering, the American had a trophy-filled career with the New England Patriots before moving on to the Tampa Bay Buccaneers, where he won seven Super Bowl championships.
Despite persistent rumors that the 46-year-old was set for an unexpected comeback, Tom Brady announced his retirement at the end of the 2023 season.
As an alternative, he now resides in Miami and is about to make his NFL broadcasting debut after inking a massive contract with Fox Sports, which will entail him assuming a whole new position as their main commentator.
Though the 49ers wouldn’t be the first club to lose to the great quarterback, it will be intriguing to see how he talks about them after they offended him.
Brady faced several opponents throughout his career, including as the New Orleans Saints, Denver Broncos, and Indianapolis Colts. However, it appears that his animosity for the San Francisco squad is still quite intense.
