When Max Verstappen May Claim A Third F1 Title?
Max Verstappen appears to be on track to defend his Formula One championship title for another year with a 125-point advantage over the second-placed driver, in this instance, his teammate.
Max Verstappen appears to be on track to defend his Formula 1 championship title for another year with a 125-point advantage over the second-placed driver, in this instance, his teammate.
Eight of his ten triumphs were consecutive as the Dutch driver entered the summer break with ten wins. So, if everything keeps going as it has, the Red Bull driver should secure his third championship soon.
If the defending champion did not score on any of them, Checo Perez would need to finish the first five times to overtake him due to his massive point advantage, equivalent to five race victories.
However, to pass him, he would need the quickest lap point or keep up his strong run in front of his teammate. Max Verstappen has placed third or higher in every Grand Prix so far. Therefore, this is a hypothetical and improbable situation.
Even though it appears he will win, the calculations still provide more than half the drivers a shot, regardless of how unlikely that is. When may Oscar Piastri mathematically clinch the championship because he is now ranked eleventh on the list of prospective contenders?
The setting may be the Japanese Grand Prix
After the Japanese GP, the championship would be locked if Verstappen wins the following four Ch and Perez places worse than eighth. Therefore, the venue for a third straight victory may be the same as the one where he achieved it twice the year prior.
With ten races remaining in the season, he would have a chance to break last year’s record of 14 victories, which he had broken with that triumph.
Champagne would have to wait until the Qatar Grand Prix if Verstappen wins each race and Perez comes in second. The Dutchman would prevail in such competition even if they doubled in every race. The scenario would be the same if the Mexican placed third rather than second.
Could he capture the championship without winning another race?
Given how the first half of the season has gone, it appears not confident that this will occur. Still, presuming the leader of the standings’ victory at the Belgian Grand Prix would be his final of the year, he would have a chance to win the championship. The Dutchman would have to place second to Perez in each sprint and race to do this.
As a result, the championship would be won in Brazil when there were still two races to finish a season in which Red Bull dominated. Although we would have to wait till Abu Dhabi, if he came in third and not second, he may still win.
When will Red Bull formally win the constructors’ championship?
The squad hopes to defend their championship in addition to Max Verstappen. With a 256-point advantage over Mercedes in second position, the team has a significant lead over its driver in the constructors’ standings.
Similar to the drivers’ championship, six teams—Alpine, McLaren, Ferrari, Aston Martin, and Mercedes—remain mathematically eligible to claim the title by the end of the current campaign.
However, the moment they win a second straight world title is a matter of time. Verstappen’s victory at the Monza Grand Prix may come before it.
The team would need to complete a double and post the quickest lap at Zandvoort and Monza for that to occur. Furthermore, it would be impractical for their competitors to score any points.
Even if the Silver Arrows finish third and fourth, with Mercedes trailing them, Red Bull might win the race with the most points before the Singapore Grand Prix.
Furthermore, Milton Keynes will win the championship if they continue to gain points, even if Mercedes were to surpass Red Bull in points between now and the season’s conclusion.
