Malik Scott: It Offends Me To See Jake Paul Take On Canelo
The renowned boxing champion Deontay Wilder’s trainer disagrees with him.
Due to his track record of defeating untrained, out-of-shape amateur fighters, Jake Paul has emerged as one of the most well-known figures in celebrity boxing. His success on YouTube has propelled him to the top of the niche entertainment market.
But when actual, skilled fighters are named, that’s when the issues start, and Malik Scott, who is presently Deontay Wilder‘s head trainer, has confirmed that he doesn’t like the circus that surrounds Jake Paul and that he should not be called out for criticizing some of the sport’s most recognizable figures.
Although Scott is now teaching Faze Temperrr, he doesn’t mind when YouTube stars call out the real boxers. Scott isn’t against YouTube stars fighting each other.
Scott doesn’t like the way Jake Paul has consistently pushed Canelo Alvarez, one of the best boxers ever, pound-for-pound.
Scott revealed to talkSPORT,
“Whatever people entertain becomes the main topic, and people actually entertain Jake Paul fighting Canelo. This is hugely insulting to me. So, I don’t really know how to entertain that mentally as much, and I don’t even count it, but when it comes to YouTubers fighting YouTubers and gamers fighting gamers, I’m with all that.”
Wilder is preparing for his fight with Anthony Joshua
Deontay Wilder has been linked to several fights, including one against Andy Ruiz. But it doesn’t seem as though Wilder will accept any of them before his fight with Anthony Joshua in Saudi Arabia.
Since his second loss to Tyson Fury, Wilder has only fought once. It was a brief contest with Robert Helenius that Wilder brutally knocked out.
Although a date for the Joshua-Wilder fight hasn’t been officially announced, it is anticipated to take place in Saudi Arabia, and Wilder is still training with Malik Scott in anticipation of such a fight, the winner of which is likely to become one of the top contenders for the heavyweight titles in 2024 or 2025.
