Kevin Stefanski Challenges For Title Of Second-Coach Of Year
The race for coach of the year appeared to be very open not too long ago. There is now a clear favorite.
Kevin Stefanski, the coach of the Browns, may have secured a second title after winning it in 2020.
In the meantime, he became the first coach to make the playoffs and start four quarterbacks in a row. There’s still a possibility for him to get the No. 1 spot and win the AFC North.
Stefanski is a strong contender for the distinction even if the team doesn’t win the division; considering the hardships they have faced, they should at least finish as the No. 5 seed. Nor can it be forgotten that he trusted Jim Scwartz with the defense, even though Scwartz wasn’t among the highly sought-after defensive coordinator candidates that teams were rushing to sign.
The choice to put the offence in the hands of 38-year-old Joe Flacco, who has four straight games with 300 yards or more passing and has given the Browns the sort of balance that might make them extremely dangerous in the postseason, was the cherry on top.
A major NFL wild card coming into the season was the Browns. They now have a wild card berth, at minimum. And what a crazy journey it has been. They may ride that wave until February, when they conclude 2023 by competing in the team’s inaugural Super Bowl.
