Zach Wilson Received Trade Offers From The Jets
Zach Wilson, quarterback for the Jets, is up for trade. Would they, if they really wanted to?
The Jets have received trade proposals for Zach Wilson, according to a person with knowledge of the matter. But they’re not happy with the offers they’ve received. They are thus holding out for something greater.
As of right moment, neither the teams making the bids nor their terms are known. Some people think that Woody Johnson, the owner, is the one preventing it from occurring.
While in the press room on Monday at the annual meetings, head coach Robert Saleh refrained from discussing Wilson. Saleh declared that he would submit to G.M. Joe Douglas, who might then submit to Johnson finally.
To put it mildly, it would be ironic if Johnson was squatting on Wilson. Johnson literally pissed him off last month. (Not in the strict sense.)
Johnson stated at the NFL Honors, “We need a backup quarterback.” “This year, there wasn’t one.”
The Jets have to move on at some time. They might, after all. As of right present, none of the bids that were or are being considered have been accepted.
Wilson will receive almost $5.5 million in compensation in 2024, all of it guaranteed. Retreating and announcing victory have a very essential purpose.
The Jets will probably select a different quarterback at or close to the top of the first round. Some may be tempted to avoid the Jets as the top prospects get more potent (due to NIL money), partly because of how the Jets handled the second overall pick in the 2021 draft.
