Mike Tyson Discloses How He Lost His Whole Life’s Wealth

The game’s legend made some poor decisions away from the ring.

Mike Tyson Discloses How He Lost His Whole Life's wealth

Mike Tyson disclosed how he lost all of his wealth in 2003 before filing for bankruptcy.

In the summer, Tyson will fight Jake Paul in Arlington, Texas, as part of his boxing comeback. With the fight due to air live on Netflix, the sports legend is reportedly expected to take home $20 million.

In2002, Mike Tyson defeated Lennox Lewis to earn the largest payout of his career, which was $35 million, for a fight. He lost the riches that would last a lifetime, and a year later he filed for bankruptcy.

After conversing with tennis player Nick Kyrgios, Tyson has finally disclosed his struggles. He stated, “Initially, I didn’t manage my fame too well.” “You are aware because, at first, you desire the notoriety that comes with winning, but at that point, you have no power.”

“And at that point, I started running into problems because, while I was out on the streets, people might not have known that my mother had passed away or that there had been a family tragedy. I’m hurt, and they’re just like, “Hey man, give me a picture.” Hey, this dude. Hey, dude. Love is what I have for you. Please give it to me.”

“I used to be violent about it, even if I wasn’t in the mood. I then quit after receiving a significant number of lawsuits. I no longer tolerate pain, even if I used to. I was unable to sign checks for myself. There was constantly legal action against me.”

“Continually threw my money away by getting sued, going to court, hanging around with the wrong people, and making poor business judgments. Essentially, it was the entirety of the Cabot. All I did was allow myself to become enmeshed in a destructive cycle.”

Big Purse Career of Mike Tyson

Not surprisingly, Tyson has consistently made enormous sums of money, being among the greatest ever. According to some reports, he was once valued up to $300 million. He reportedly made $6,5 million from just two fights.

Considering that he lost everything, his current estimated net worth of $10 million still marks a significant recovery. As he gets ready to take on the younger Jake Paul, he stands to make an additional $20 million this summer.
