Draymond Green’s Response On Bronny James’s NBA Draft Pick

With his perspective on the Bronny James controversy, is Draymond Green on the right track?

Draymond Green's Response On Bronny James's Possible NBAS Draft Pick

Everyone’s minds are whirling with the Bronny James argument around his possible Draft pick this summer, and the public’s opinions are fragmented. There exist some who believe Bronny James is not yet prepared to compete in the NBA and may not be in the future. His father’s insistence on it is credited for the buzz surrounding his potential. Before he retires, LeBron James does hope to play an official NBA game with one of his boys.

Conversely, there are some who prefer to focus on Bronny James’ technical abilities and how much promise they perceive in him. Because he is LeBron James’ business partner, Draymond Green can be viewed as biased in this situation. However, it’s worth reading or listening to what he recently mentioned on his podcast.

“At the very least, I believe he possesses more than enough skills, abilities, and qualities to be a solid backup point guard. He’ll be able to outmuscle backup point guards when it comes to full-court pickups. The ability to make free throws is a must for backup point guards, and we know he can. Someone complaining that a backup point guard plays basketball too well needs to be wise and avoid mistakes. It’s not necessary to wait until next year; even in the worst case scenario, we know he’s likely capable. Interestingly, you guys will choose players in the top ten who aren’t prepared to play next season and then claim that Bronny, who isn’t in anyone’s top ten, isn’t prepared to play next season. Nevertheless, what qualities do they possess that we can hope to develop? And some of those are with Bronny.”

Is Bronny also being undervalued by Draymond Green?

It is still possible to interpret Draymond Green‘s remarks as a subtle jab at those who are fervently hoping the young athlete is selected in the draft. Especially the Lakers supporters who lately became optimistic after hearing rumors that he had a job interview with the team’s management.

In all honesty, though, the event that caused his heart arrest last year is perhaps what many people were most excited about. After going through that, many people who are unaware of his situation likely believe he is compromised when playing.

What counts is that he has been given the all-clear by the doctors to resume his official playing career. Additionally, he performed above average in his combine. NBA teams that appreciate Bronny’s unrealized potential as much as Green do should give him a fair shot to prove himself. In your opinion, what?
